OPEN RANGES

PrairieFire Nevada is home to over 50 unique ranges for both firearms and bows, so if you just want to come out alone or with friends and family, we’re here for you.

Ranges are open from 8am-4pm 7 days a week. Gates open at 7:30am. Please check-in at the General Store located up the hill to the right upon entering through the gate. Parking is to the left of the General Store building.

ARCHERY RANGES

Step into a world of archery adventure at our open range, where every shot is a journey through nature’s beauty. With a meticulously designed 14-stand walking course crafted in collaboration with NFAA, both field and hunter archers will find their perfect challenge.

Ranging from 10 to 92 yards, each shot presents a unique test of skill amidst breathtaking natural terrain. Immerse yourself with lifelike 3D targets strategically placed throughout the course, ensuring an authentic experience at every turn.

SONNY LEGGETT
Chief Communications Officer

Sonny Leggett, Colonel (Retired) U.S. Army, joined the PrairieFire Nevada team in June 2023 as the Chief Communications Officer. In his position, Leggett continues to exemplify his commitment to excellence and service. His leadership is marked by a profound understanding of communication dynamics and a strategic vision aimed at fostering meaningful connections with stakeholders and driving organizational success. As Chief Communications, Sonny remains dedicated to spearheading innovative strategies that elevate PrairieFire Nevada’s brand presence and amplify its impact in the marketplace. 

Before his tenure at PrairieFire Nevada, Leggett served as the Vice President for Communications and Marketing at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. Prior to The Citadel, Sonny was the director of strategic communications for Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and the NATO Resolute Support Mission, Afghanistan from 2019 to 2021. Sonny synchronized all communications across the theater while serving as principal advisor to the Resolute Support Commander. He also served as theater spokesperson engaging 1.9 million people daily across the social media platforms in support of campaign objectives. 

Before his deployment to Afghanistan, Sonny served as director of strategic communications for the National Security Council for five years. In that role he provided direct counsel to the President of the United States on efforts to counter terrorist and state-actor communications. Sonny also led the White House engagements with Silicon Valley enterprises, informing tech companies on how their platforms were being exploited by terrorists, including ISIS. 

From 2009 to 2014, Sonny was the principal public affairs advisor to the Commander of Joint Special Operations Command. There he developed comprehensive, inter-agency strategic communications plans in support of military operations producing global interest and directly impacting U.S. Foreign Policy.

Skills – 30 years in the building and mechanical maintenance field. I hold a Contractors License, Master Plumbing License & Master Tech 3 Refrigeration and HVAC License. I have constructed projects from 3 million to 4.3 billion, ranging from hotels & casinos, amusement park rides, hospitals and manufacturing plants. Spent 80% of my career in hospitality with hotels and resorts. New York City Police Officer, 46th precinct, Bronx New York.

My professional goal is to work with and grow a world class organization that hold guests and employees at top priority with an emphasis and fiscal responsibility to its stock -holders.

I worked for the greatest city under Mayor Juliani helping the residents of the Bronx Borough have a better life. Most rewarding job ever held.

Former competitive bodybuilder and won NPC Mr. Connecticut in 1998.
